Life Path 9 The Old Soul
Big-hearted with strangers, and slower to let one person in.

Every birthday from 1950 to 2010, counted day by day.
You've often felt a little older than your age. Even young, you may have noticed the unfairness in things and felt for people you'd never met. You see the big picture easily, and small-minded behavior bothers you more than it seems to bother others. Strangers tend to tell you their life stories, and you listen as if they matter, because to you they do.
Your ideals are high, and that's a gift with a catch. People keep falling short of how things could be, and so do you. You can be endlessly patient with humanity in general and surprisingly short with the particular person in front of you. Giving comes easily. Receiving, or asking for anything just for yourself, feels awkward, almost selfish.
Because you seem calm and a little detached, people assume you're above ordinary needs. You have the same wants as anyone; you've just learned to set them aside for something larger. After an ending, others may assume you've moved on because you seem so accepting. Often you grieve for a long time in private, for the person and for what it could have been.
Endings seem to find you: friendships that run their course, chapters that close before you're ready. Each one asks you to let go cleanly and to forgive, yourself included. What you give the world tends to last longer when you also look after the one life that is yours to live.
Life Path 9 in love and at work
You love generously and with high ideals, and you can see the best in a partner long before they see it themselves. Your work needs to mean something beyond the paycheck.

Questions
How do I calculate Life Path 9?
Reduce your birth month, day and year to one digit each, add them, then reduce. August 25, 1992 works like this: August is 8, the 25th gives 2 + 5 = 7, and 1992 gives 1 + 9 + 9 + 2 = 21, then 3. Adding 8 + 7 + 3 makes 18, and 1 + 8 = 9. Master numbers that appear on the way are kept whole.
Why is 9 called the number of endings?
9 is the last single digit, so numerology treats it as the number of completion. In a person, that tends to show up as a life with clear chapters and a strong sense of when something has run its course. It also asks a 9 to practice letting go gracefully, which rarely comes easily, especially when the ending wasn't their choice.
Which Life Path numbers are compatible with 9?
9s often feel most understood by 3s and 6s, who share their warmth and their wish to make life better for others. Another 9 can be a deep match, though the two may give more time to the world than to each other. Practical numbers such as 4 or 8 can feel too focused on the here and now for a 9, and they can also keep a 9 grounded.
