You decide fast. While a group is still weighing options you have usually picked one, and waiting for everyone else to agree can feel harder than the work itself. Most of what you're proud of began with you going first, before anyone said it was a good idea. Starting something is where you feel most like yourself.
What people don't see is how hard you are on yourself. You hold your own work to a standard you'd never put on a friend, and when something you started goes badly it can feel like a verdict on you as a person. You want to do things alone, and you also want someone to notice that you did. Those two wishes pull against each other, so you sometimes end up proving yourself to people who never asked you to.
Others can read you as arrogant, or as someone who doesn't need anybody. The first is mostly impatience: you can see where a thing is going, and the slow route feels close to painful. The second is closer to pride. Asking for help can feel like handing over a piece of yourself, so you put it off until you're too tired to keep going alone.
At your best you go first so that other people feel brave enough to follow, and you're more generous with that than you get credit for. Life keeps bringing you back to the same lesson: you can lean on someone and still be the person who began it.

How do I know if my Life Path number is 1?
Reduce your birth month, day and year to one digit each, add them, then reduce the total. Take January 8, 1990. January is 1, the day is 8, and 1990 is 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19, then 1 + 0 = 1. Adding 1 + 8 + 1 gives 10, and 1 + 0 = 1. If 11, 22 or 33 turns up along the way, keep it whole.
Which Life Path numbers get on best with a 1?
1s often click with 3s and 5s, who like to move quickly and won't try to slow them down. Another 1, or an 8, can be exciting and tiring at once, because both people want to steer. A gentle 2 can balance a 1 well if the 1 learns to ask instead of decide. Any pair can work, and these are only tendencies.
Is Life Path 1 selfish?
It can look that way, because 1s put their own direction first and dislike being told what to do. Many are generous with their nerve, though, and will go first on something scary so others can follow. Where 1s tend to go wrong is isolation: doing everything alone, then feeling that nobody helps. Learning to ask is most of the work.
